About
Carly Wilson grew up in the temperate rain forests of the Pacific North West. After attending the University of Washington (Wildlife Science) she moved to Australia where she worked as the head of a wildlife shelter for two and a half years. In that role she oversaw the daily care of the 3000+ sick, injured, and orphaned animals that were brought into to the facility annually. She has also worked in a volunteer-capacity for numerous other wildlife organisations and social programs for the elderly and intellectually impaired.
In 2009 Carly left the animal shelter to pursue a career in wildlife film making. Since then she has appeared in the television programs “RSPCA Animal Rescue” (Seven Network: Australia), “Travel Oz” (ABC1: Australia), numerous news features (ABC News Canberra, Win News Canberra, King5 News Seattle), the independent documentary “Kangaroos of Conflict” (Les Herstik Productions), the Greg Grainger documentary “Heroes of Australia” (ABC1), and a sprinkling of local independent films.
She is currently working on a new Australian travel series, “X-Roads”, as one of three presenters and is in pre-production of her first feature length documentary.
Carly is currently living in Canberra with two lizards and four chickens.
